🔟 10 Reasons Why People Love Sacrimony 🔟

Hi there!

Sacrimony #5 has just 4 days left on Kickstarter and we're creeping closer and closer to being funded!

If you're still sitting on the fence about backing, I'm here to tell you why readers love Sacrimony and why you should back Sacrimony before time runs out.

1) This is probably the most obvious, but just take a look at the art.

If you want more of this fed directly into your oculars, why have you not backed Sacrimony yet? Go do it right now!

2) You’re getting a fantasy story that doesn’t feel like the same old medieval European Tolkien tropes or someone’s D&D campaign.

You're getting something that feels totally new because I’ve made up an entire world of custom races, gods and history for you to dive into.

3) Sacrimony has great queer representation but also doesn’t revolve around “queer trauma.”

Characters are queer and go about their daily queer lives and you’ll never get “I was beaten within an inch of my life every day for being gay”. Queer people get enough shit in real life. We don't need it in our fantasy, too.

Queer is also not a personality trait.

4) Sacrimony is full of people of color.

I hate when people of color are excluded from fantasy stories for the sake of “historical accuracy” in a FICTIONAL time where dragons flew around and wizards shot lightning from their asses. Piss off the racists by backing Sacrimony!

5) You will be supporting a creator of color who is making an amazing fantasy story about people of color.

I’m a brown woman, some of my main characters are brown women. We need more of that in the comics world and especially in the fantasy genre.

Fantasy is not exclusively white and male made by white males.

6) Do you want a fantasy story that doesn’t revolve around a bunch of heroes saving the world from bad guys?

Sacrimony is far more nuanced than that and deals with everyday, relatable "human" issues but with the complications of magic, gods and mysterious resurrections.

7) If you’re into character-driven stories like Saga or the Avatar series or Game of Thrones, or some sort of mash up of all three, you will definitely love Sacrimony.

8) Sacrimony also has some amazing character designs.

My favorite part of this comic is designing cool outfits/armor/uniforms and costumes for the characters. I love creating memorable designs that say a lot about a character's personality.

9) There is some dope as hell cover art.

I don’t know which I love more: character design or drawing covers. Maybe I love them equally, but if you don’t think these covers are very nice to look at, then I don’t know what to say.

10) I also put a lot of effort into designing interesting and unique architecture.

You’re not just getting “medieval castle after medieval castle.” Each setting in Sacrimony has its own unique style that you won’t see in a ‘traditional’ fantasy story.

11)A bonus reason: Muffin commands you to read Sacrimony.

Who are you to disobey Muffin?

If you've read through this whole thing, thank you so much.

If you've already backed the campaign, thank you!

If you're planning on backing the campaign. but haven't done so yet, there's just 4 days left!

And if you can help spread the word and tell people about Sacrimony so that we can get this thing funded, that would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some handy-dandy links that you can click to share the campaign on social media!

Again, thank you so much. Here's hoping that Sacrimony #5 gets funded sooner than later so I can get some sleep T__T

Hey there! I know I should be going on and on about how I'm so excited that Sacrimony #6 is going live next week and I totally am excited but I wanted to take a moment to talk about something particularly special to me as it's still fresh in my head. Last weekend, my bestie and I went to the Met Museum to check out Vincent Van Gogh's Cypresses. I knew it was going to be depressing and resonate with me on a lot of levels, but I didn't realize how hard it would actually hit me. Van Gogh has...

Hi there! I know that I'm in the process of fulfilling Sacrimony #5, but I'm the kind of person who likes planning a few steps ahead. It's the only way I can stay on track, especially with a long-term project that consumes most of my time. A few folks have probably heard me talking about this already, but very early next year, I'll be compiling Sacrimony #1-5 into a trade paperback. This is very exciting for me, as Sacrimony was always meant to be more of a 'graphic novel' type story than...

Hey there! Happy Friday and I hope those who celebrated Thanksgiving had a wonderful Thanksgiving. And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, then I hope you had a nice, restful day. I honestly wanted to write something more meaningful today, but my brain is officially out of juice. Dead. Kaput. Brain melt. A lot has been going on behind the scenes while I've been running the Sacrimony #5 Kickstarter campaign and things have been super hectic. My cousins visited for a good 2 weeks and we took a...
